Women Share The Silly Things They Cried Over While Pregnant And It Hits Way Too Close To Home
There's no doubt that pregnancy is a beautiful thing, but let's face it, it can get a bit messy sometimes. The first trimester is particularly difficult for women because hormones are changing rapidly. Estrogen and progesterone are skyrocketing, which means you can be super happy one minute, and bawling your eyes out the next. Often times, that mood swing can be over the tiniest inconvenience.
Anyone who has been pregnant (or dealt with a pregnant wife) knows this all too well. At the time, it sucks. But looking back it can be pretty hilarious to remember the silly things women cried over during their pregnancies.
In Her Defense, She Was Just Trying To Help
It's understandable that Jay thought this was pretty funny but he would have been better off just letting his wife do what she wanted. If your pregnant wife wants to defrost a sausage roll in the shower then just let her.
Honestly, "just let her" should really just be the motto for any marriage when one of you is pregnant. It not entirely a bad idea either. If the water gets hot enough, the steam should do the same work as a microwave.
Looks Like We're Never Going Back To Rusty's
Christina knew right away that this was a pretty hilarious thing to cry over. Despite knowing this, there's a good chance that she will never go back to the specific pizza place. Even if she was out of line to cry, she will always have terrible memories associated with Rusty's Pizza.
When a restaurant betrays you once like this, then there's really no way you can forgive them. Sorry, Rusty's, but you're canceled. In Christina's world at least.
Nesting AND Pregnancy Brain Is A Vicious Combo
Just like pregnancy brain, nesting is an actual phenomenon that women experience. Nesting is basically just the urge to clean and prepare your home for your new baby. It usually comes on strongest in the latter half of your pregnancy and can even be a sign of labor.
When nesting combines with the regular pregnancy brain, you can end up with a nasty situation, like yelling at your husband because he dared to step on your perfectly vacuumed carpet.
When Moose Tracks Just Won't Do
Any true ice cream lover totally understands where Cassie is coming from here. You might have six different flavors in the freezer, but they're all there for certain reasons and specific moods.
You don't have a raspberry sorbet on a fall day, just like how you don't have peanut butter chocolate chip on the hottest day of the year. Combine those well-known preferences with pregnancy cravings and you're setting someone like Cassie up for failure.
One Trip Or Bust
You don't even need to be pregnant to know that it's one trip or bust. I will stress every single muscle in my body to carry six bags of groceries inside the house if it means I don't have to go back to the car a second time.
It can be difficult when your pregnancy prevents you from achieving that one-trip greatness. Kim knew in her heart of hearts that she wanted to take one trip, but the tiny human inside her said no, not today.
Why Would A Doctor's Office Do This?
If Alicia is in the doctor's office during her pregnancy, it's safe to assume that she is there to visit her OB/GYN, midwife, or someone who will help her on the nine-month journey. That means the doctor's office should know how important it is to keep things clean and precise.
In fact, we can only assume they had an entire mandatory course in medical school on how to keep nesting pregnant women at bay.
Don't Mess With A Pregnant Woman's Burrito
Burritos are one of the most loved foods for pregnant women so don't mess with it. Sparky the dog is not exempt from this rule. Not only do burritos provide a source of protein for the baby to grow, but if you get one that's big enough it will serve as a way to prepare for the baby.
You can cradle the burrito, dress the burrito, and you can even try changing tiny little diapers on the burrito.
When It Doubt, Blame It On The Baby
One of the best things about being pregnant is that you can bring your baby into any conversation as a trump card. Want a second plate at Thanksgiving dinner? It's for the baby. Need to call dibs on an entire jug of Sunny D? It's for the baby.
Do you need to spend an entire Monday evening eating ice cream on the couch while watching The Bachelorette? It's. For. The. Baby. If you try to challenge it, we'll cry even harder.
Women Of The Midwest, Unite
It's hard to tell if being pregnant is worse in the warm or the cold. When it comes summer babies, being pregnant in the heat can just make everything that's already swollen even worse.
Sure, carrying a baby in winter means your feet won't be as massive and you can have some better blood circulation. But it also means you risk getting snow in your boot and having a full-on breakdown like Tygress.
This Is Entirely Chick-Fil-A's Fault
Chick-fil-A has caught some flack in the last few years, but it's still consistently rated America's favorite fast food joint. Despite the controversy, it is known for having incredible customer service, unlimited (and delicious) sauce offerings, and some really tasty chicken.
Yet, despite all the amazing things about it, it's not open on Sundays. We get that you're following a longstanding company tradition, but it even closed down on Super Bowl Sunday. Let the football fans and pregnant women have the chicken they want and deserve on Sundays.
Parenting AND Being Pregnant Isn't Easy
It's one thing to be pregnant and full of emotions while handling the normal stuff in life, but try being a parent to another kid on top of it all. You might think that since you've done it once it will be easy to do again, but no, it's just harder.
Now you have to decide if your mood swing is because your older child did something wrong, or if it's just emotions.
He's The Hero We All Needed
Let's give a standing ovation to Misty Cotton's husband for being the hero every pregnant woman needs. He made sure not to diminish her emotions or opinions and simply listened. Then, to make things even better, he reassured her in a positive way that it was okay to feel the way she did.
To every husband out there who has felt confused and stressed when their pregnant partner has a moment like this, take note.
A Snapshot Of The Future
We want to sympathize with Tierra in this situation, but we have to be more realistic. What she experienced with her nephew is just a snapshot of her future now that she's pregnant.
Get ready, Tierra, because if you raise your child to be smart and strong-willed then they will finesse you out of your extra pepperoni too. Hopefully, the next time it happens you won't have the urge to cry as much as you did this time.
Sometimes Things Are Just Beautiful, Man
They say to stop and smell the roses so you can appreciate everything around you, but Maggie took that a little too far during her pregnancy. When you have back aches, swollen feet, and bleeding gums, you have nothing else to do but enjoy the little things around you.
If seeing some adorable bunnies in the backyard is what will make you feel better, then let it be and let the tears flow free.
Some Quality Me-Time Before The Birth
What Alberta didn't realize from this unfortunate scenario is that she'll look back fondly on her 3 A.M. Foot Loops snack. Because after the baby comes, she won't have another moment of peace like that for 18 years.
Right now she's laughing about it, but when you're juggling soccer practice, making lunches, and doing homework, she will envy her past-self for even having the energy to get out of bed in the middle of the night to make food.
Shoutout To All The BFFs Who Come To The Rescue
There's a special place in our hearts for all the BFFs out there who stand by their pregnant friends when the going gets tough. The pregnant one might have a partner to lean on, but they don't get the intimate details on how your pregnancy is going.
Your partner isn't always the one you talk to about lactating. It's your BFF who has to listen to that while they cut open a grapefruit for you.
This Is Why Men Have To Listen Better
This isn't even a case of pregnancy brain, skyrocketing hormones, or anything in between. This is a simple case of men not actually listening to the women in their life, then having to pay the price for it.
Word of advice: in a situation with food and a pregnant woman, less is never more. If you're doubting the portion sizes, just get two or three extra ones just in case.
Who Didn't Cry In That Movie Though?
Ashley, you're not alone. It's not just pregnant women who cried during Secret Life Of Pets 2. Anyone with a heart did. Watching Max bond with a baby is the kind of wholesome content any self-respecting human wants to watch.
Of course, you can never compare crying in Secret Life Of Pets 2 to the number of tears shed during Toy Story 3. When they were heading toward the incinerator holding hands, there wasn't a dry eye in the theater.
At Least She Had Warm Feet While She Cried
It can be the smallest things that make you cry during your pregnancy because a lot of women attribute a silly mistake to themselves. Just think about it. You're about to give birth to a little human that you have the responsibility of raising.
The pressure is as high as it gets. It can be debilitating when you feel like you can't even put your slippers on the proper way without making a mistake. Rebecca, we feel you.
The Dog Appreciates Your Support
Let's face it, food is one of the biggest stressors when it comes to pregnant women. There are a ton of other little things though that can push women's emotions just over the edge and Morgan has proved it.
Of the three that she outlined here the first one is definitely the most valid. It can be devastating to see that a perfectly fine dog has gone from fluff ball to raccoon dragged in from the street.
