Couple Starts Conversation Over Viral ‘Sleeping In Separate Beds’ Video
Marriage has it's peaks and valleys, but it's more so about figuring out how to navigate those murky waters. Meeting each other in the middle is important and is a healthy part of any relationship.
Once you accept that, things get easy. For Chrissy and Tom Clark, they found a sleeping situation that works for them, and sparked huge debate with others.
How It Started For Chrissy
Chrissy Clark is no different from anyone else. One year, she became really sick and developed a persistent cough.
"Because of my cough, one of us would end up sleeping on the couch or in the guest bedroom," she said.
The Usual Situation
Traditionally, married couples sleep in the same bed. That most likely changes when someone gets the other upset and sleeps on the couch.
Can you imagine not sleeping with your partner for more than a year??
His Room
Chrissy posted the viral video on her TikTok after someone said society should start normalizing not sleeping with your partner.
In the video, she showed her husband's room equipped with a comfortable bed.
Creating A New Process
According to Chrissy, the two didn't stop sleeping in separate rooms after that gnarly cough went away.
"After the cough went away, we kept sleeping in the other rooms because we both had much better sleep for several reasons," she said.
Her Bed Is Just As Nice
After showing her husband's room, she showcased her sleeping quarters for the TikTok users.
This is what you call going with what works, folks. They have good reasons to do this...
Of Course, Not All Agree
This user commented how sleeping separately helped his grandparents, but how he couldn't do it with his wife.
It sounds like he enjoys those cuddles from his lover all the time.
How It Helped Their Marriage
Sleeping apart isn't a method for all, but Chrissy and Tom made it work to their advantage.
"Sleep quality has improved our marriage," she said. "I am not cranky, and neither is he. We still cuddle in bed and watch TV, but when it is time to sleep, he will go to his bedroom to sleep."
To Each Their Own
Sleeping in different beds works for some people. Theoretically, it sounds like a great plan.
Realistically, it's hard giving up that warmth your partner gives, but many people go for this style of sleeping.
