This Woman Dressed Up As Her Favorite Characters For Her Weekly Pregnancy Announcements
When you're pregnant, your body goes through more changes than you could possibly realize. A lot of mothers, especially first-time mothers, want to document their growing baby belly to look back on.
While a simple picture is enough for most couples, one expecting mother wanted to step up her game and get a little creative with her weekly pregnancy updates. She combined her and her husband's content creation skills with their love of Disney, Harry Potter, and The Office, and came up with some epic photos!
Meet The Horines
Grace and Brennan Horine live in Orlando, Florida and the couple absolutely loves Disney, PIxar, and Harry Potter. The couple frequently visits The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and made a pregnancy announcement video entirely filmed at the Wizarding World.

While creating the video, Grace was using a pregnancy app that tells expectant mothers how big their baby is at any given stage. During her 14th week, the app said her baby would be the size of a beet, so Grace dressed up for fun and had Brennan take a picture of her dressed as Dwight from The Office.
Don't Eat This Apple!
Grace hadn't planned to do weekly photoshoots on top of the pregnancy announcement video, but after receiving such a positive response to her Dwight Schrute photo, she committed to weekly character shoots.
Her Passion Brought Her to The US
Grace is originally from Barcelona, where she studied film in college, which led to her career as a freelance photographer and videographer. While in college she did a term abroad at the University of Buffalo and she met her now-husband during her time in the United States.
Now We Know The Size Of Tinkerbell
Brennan also works as a photographer, and while the couple's home base is in Orlando, they work with clients all over the U.S. Grace also works part-time as a production assistant at Universal Orlando, which explains the couple's connection to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
The Worst Thing About Prison Was The Dementors
Grace grew up loving Disney and Harry Potter, then once she met her husband he introduced her to The Office, which she now considers to be the third major fandom that she loves.
This Baby Will Be As Cute As A Pygmy Puff
If you're thinking that creating costumes and finding props every week would be expensive for the couple, you're not wrong. Grace said that she had a number of the props on hand before she started the series and tried to use clothing she already owned to help cut down on costs.
Halfway There!
Every week on Grace's chalkboard she would indicate what trimester she was in, what week, as well as highlights about the baby's size and a quote that usually had something to do with whatever character she was portraying.
This Baby Is Worth Melting For
dAs Grace's baby bump continued to grow she focussed on picking characters that had elements related to the size of the baby, like choosing to be Olaf from Frozen the week that her baby was the size of a carrot.
Don't Read Too Much Into The Ultrasound
Grace and Brennan chose not to know the sex of the baby before she was born even though many of their followers were curious, so they referred to their daughter as baby or as he/she whenever Grace posted.
A Quaffle Would Be Heavy To Carry Around
Since Grace works as a PA for Universal and the couple had a Harry Potter-themed pregnancy announcement video, there's no surprise that Grace had a couple of weeks which were based on Harry Potter characters.
Giving Birth Seems Like Lightyears Away
Grace's favorite Pixar movie is Toy Story which is why the couple's baby shower was Toy Story-themed and they painted their baby's nursery to fit that theme as well. So, of course Grace was also going to have at least one week that featured one of Andy's toys.
Let's Hope The Baby Isn't As Vicious!
Since her husband works as a photographer, Grace knew she could rope Brennan into helping her with her weekly photoshoots and she could count on him to take photos worthy of her Instagram page.
Belle Of The Baby
When writing her various posts week after week, Grace would always expand on the information that was on the chalkboard about the size of the baby or information about the theme she'd chosen, and she'd update her followers on how she was feeling.
13 Weeks Until Baby's Life Begins
It wasn't until nearly the end of her second trimester that Grace really started to feel the changes in her body other than her belly that had been steadily growing for the past few months.
The Elder Wands Knows All
During the end of the second trimester is when Grace said things started to become more physically difficult for her simply because the baby was growing in size, but she said she felt like her body was handling the changes relatively well.
The Smallest Things Take Up The Most Room In Your Heart
During week 29 Grace chose to dress up as Winnie the Pooh as she felt like she really identified with Pooh because of how hungry she was feeling all the time. But she said she was really focused on choosing healthy foods to satisfy her cravings. No pots of honey for her!
Her Belly Feels Like A Bowl Of Jelly
At 30 weeks, Grace hinted at some more prominent side effects of pregnancy that were making her a little uncomfortable, which became a much more pressing issue in the coming weeks.
Adventure Is Out There
With only a few weeks left before baby was due, Grace said she was starting to feel a bit like a whale with her growing baby bump and simple things we all take for granted like getting out of bed were becoming quite the ordeal.
There's A Snake In His Boot And A Baby In Her Belly
In what seemed to be some cosmic foreshadowing, at 32 weeks Grace talked about how she was feeling unprepared still for the birth of her baby and was thinking about how the baby could be born early — which is exactly what happened!
Focussing On Mom For A Week
Week 33 was a change for Grace and for her followers when she found herself in the hospital for a few days. Baby was okay, but Grace herself was struggling with some kidney issues. She said she thought about not posting a photo that week but wanted to share the realities of pregnancy with her followers.
How Could You Skip Halloween?
By the third trimester Grace admitted she was struggling to come up with ideas every week and after her health issues the prior week, she thought about stopping the photos altogether.
Just A Couple Weeks Away From Meeting Their Little Princess
Despite her health issues and her overall tiredness from being pregnant, Grace decided she wanted to continue the last few weeks of photos so she could finish what she started and entertain her followers!
Put The Birth Announcement In The Quibbler
Since her pregnancy updates were so creative with her first baby, it's natural to wonder if Grace and her husband would want to continue the trend with their second baby (no, she's not pregnant just yet!)
We Wouldn't Want To Carry A Toilet Seat In Our Body
Grace said that they're currently focussed on their life with baby Charlie and have no plans for a second baby right now. Grace also says that she would want to do something special if she were pregnant again, but would likely do something different than this type of project.
They Won't Be Selling Charlie At A Garage Sale
Throughout the course of her pregnancy — while also creating and collecting the props she needed for her weekly shoots — Grace and her husband collected all the toys they'd need to complete this shoot, knowing they wanted Charlie's birth announcement to be Toy Story themed.
It Is Not Your Birthday
At just two weeks old, little Charlie got to attend her first party in celebration of her and the due date her parents thought their little girl was going to show up. The party was The Office-themed, bringing it full circle to Grace's first photo where she dressed up as Dwight Schrute.
The Realities Of Motherhood
While continuing to post cute Instagram-worthy pictures with her daughter in front of the sky-blue nursery wall, Grace has shifted some of her posts to more realistic ones, using her platform to remind others just how difficult and tiring it can be to be a new mother.
Screaming Like A Mandrake
Once Charlie arrived, Grace knew she couldn't stop with the themed photos, so she's continued to post monthly milestones of varying themes. In one post, Grace talked about how excited they were to take Charlie to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter once she was two months, so it's no surprise that her 2-month shoot was Harry Potter themed.
Little Bo Sleep
For now, Grace, Brennan and Charlie are continuing to stage plenty of cute photos and Charlie's parents have slowly begun introducing her to all the franchises and fandoms that they love.
