Unruly Kids Who Left Their Parents No Other Choice
Parents will be the first to tell you kids can be super annoying. As the adult in the relationship, it's up to them to take the high road, act responsibly, and show patience. But there are times when kids leave their parents no other choice but to stoop to their level in order to teach them a lesson. This form of discipline isn't always effective, but darn is it ever funny.
You Give 'Em An Inch They Take A Mile
Raising kids is a slippery slope. Every parent wants to make sure their kid is well taken care of which often leads to over-caring. When you do too much for your kids they begin expecting more of you, like cleaning up after them, driving them places, etc.
This mom has clearly had enough of it and is ready for their kid to start helping out around the house. "I'm not your slave. Pick up your dirty socks and put them in the hamper!" Message received.
This Is Torture
When your kids are really getting on your nerves this is a wonderful way to get back at them. Who doesn't love waking up to the sweet, savory smell of cinnamon rolls in the morning?
Your kids will race downstairs thinking they're being treated for breakfast only to find out they were tricked. This is pretty mean, but not nearly as ruthless as trolling your kid with a Christmas present.
Did He Flush?
This is the kid from hell. Remember the movie series Problem Child starring John Ritter? We're talking about that one guy with the really nasally voice and the big teeth who played the principal — Gilbert Gottfried, we think his name was — and the "problem" kid named Junior who was a complete psychopath?
Something tells us that we might have the real-life version of Junior on our hands, here.
It Wasn't Perfect, But It Worked
This is priceless. What's not to love about a dad and his two middle-aged, slightly overweight pals recreating his daughter's weird picture with her friends? While the execution is certainly lacking, it's the effort that counts.
Moreover, it took four nimble girls to complete a move that three old men managed to pull off. Impressive. And it looks like dad and his friends might have had more fun than the girls, too.
So Savage
We've seen this joke pop up a few times already and it still hasn't gotten old. If your kid was naughty this year don't give them a lump of coal. That won't even phase them. Instead, promise them an iPad and then give them an actual Eye Pad.
That'll definitely teach them to behave better. If that doesn't work, you can always expose them on social media like another parent on this list did.
Creative
it's crazy the lengths some parents must go to in order to convince their kids to do certain things. Eating new foods is a big point of contention in many families, especially ones with picky eaters.
If it's not pasta or cheeseburgers or mac-n-cheese or whatever, it can lead to an argument. In the end, little fibs like this one might encourage kids to eat whatever their parents put in front of them... reluctantly, of course.
Nailed It
In case you were wondering what your parents think of the pictures you take, specifically, the ones you upload to Instagram and Facebook, this picture of a dad mimicking his daughter should give you a pretty good idea.
Everything in this picture is perfect except he missed the classic duckface that she's perfected. Also, he clearly doesn't have a great impression of the boyfriend, judging by the dummy he used in his photo.
When You've Exhausted All The Options
Just because your dad or mom doesn't want you living in their house anymore, it doesn't mean they don't love you... it just means you're probably 35 years old and, therefore, too old to be living in their basement.
Since parents are too nice to say it overtly, they hint at it until they've exhausted all their options. At least this hurtful message came in the form of a delicious cake. You win some, you lose some.
Oh, Snap!
"I will ruin much more than that" - the facebook clap back of the year. Momma just destroyed her daughter's social life in one fell swoop. You can't let yourself get dragged through the mud on Facebook by your own mother, that's just embarrassing.
This poor Facebook poster might just have to change schools after this one. After she throws that epic party, of course. Already in trouble for it, might as well go through with it.
Shop In Better Stores Then
A friend who worked at Hollister once told me the company dimmed all the lights so that the patrons wouldn't notice all the dust that was caked on the shelving units. It's also worth mentioning that the employees are asked to spray perfume into the ventilation system.
I would never ask my parents to follow me in there. But this dad came prepared. He obviously knew that the store was going to be dark.
Times Have Changed
I remember being given a similar ultimatum when I was a kid, only instead of the WiFi password, it was the TV remote that my mother would threaten me with. I was a pretty good kid so it rarely came to this but when it did, the message was heard loud and clear and I cleaned up my act pronto.
If only the kid from a few slides later had gotten the message the first time.
Good One
The sad meal? Hah! I might have to steal that one because it's just too good. What comes in the sad meal anyway? Carrots instead of fries? A broken toy? Maybe a burger without any condiments at all?
Those all sound like all the perfect makings of a "Sad Meal" to me. I guess even a home-cooked meal made by mom, even leftover meatloaf, is probably better than a Sad Meal.
When The Kid Gets Cute
For parents who have a smart mouth for a kid and don't quite know how to deal with them, listen closely and maybe take a few notes while you're at it. This parent asked his son what he wanted for his birthday, to which he responded "Cold hard cash."
Unsurprisingly, that's exactly what he got. He looks thrilled, doesn't he? We love the effort that dad went to in order to freeze that wad of money.
Oh Man, That Stinks
It's every kid's first instinct to call their parents' bluff. For instance, in this situation, the unruly kid probably thought there was no way his dad was actually going to take time off work just to come and babysit him during a high school physics class.
Boy, was he ever wrong. This one's pretty good, but the dad pretending to listen to "pop music" a few slides later might be better.
Brilliant
This is a great last resort. When the kids refuse to get along, break out the punishment t-shirt. The one that says "We Will Get Along." It'd be a whole lot easier to wear this shirt together if you're not fighting.
One of them has already gotten the message. It will only be a matter of time before the second one gives up and falls in line with her brother. This is what I call good parenting.
The King Of Pop
After being pestered by his son to give "pop music" a try, this dad grabbed his son's headphones and put the plug under his "soda pop" before telling him he was listening to "pop music."
I know we give dads a hard time for their jokes, but sometimes those cheesy zingers really hit home. And he was even cool enough to let his kid take a picture of him with his headphones on.
Laundry Much?
If your kids were totally inept at doing their own laundry, what would you do? These parents left a pretty brutal set of instructions, saying not to touch anything but the "on" button. They must not have too much faith in the kids' ability to run a simple laundry machine.
It might be a safer bet to tell these kids to handwash their clothes if they're this bad at running the laundry machines.
Ouch!
Nothing like bragging about your free time on social media and getting this massive guilt trip of a message from dad: "it's Friday night and I'm delivering Pizza for Dominios to help pay for your schooling, but you have a good time. Hope I didn't ruin your night."
Such a good burn, Dad. We seriously have to admit that this one would make us feel really guilty. At least guilty enough to stop posting about our free time on Facebook.
All Locked Up
This mom found the perfect way to motivate her lazy kids to do their chores. She locked up their laptops and PS4. All tasks must be completed to her satisfaction before she'll unlock the devices. It's pretty clever, if you ask us. Hit them where it hurts.
Actually, this has caught on in a lot of households now. Seems like everyone wants to limit their kids' and their own screen time these days.
No Women In Sight
This son got a taste of his own medicine when his mom called him out for his bad joke on Facebook. "A woman is much more likely to be found in the kitchen than in your bedroom!!" That's what you get for posting dumb stuff in full view of your parents.
It also helps explain why so many people ended up jumping ship on Facebook once their parents and grandparents got involved! No fun being called out in front of your friends!
Eating In Bed? That's A Public Humiliation
So apparently this kid is not supposed to be eating in bed OR watching cartoons at 3:00 in the morning. But he clearly thought he was pulling a fast one on his parents, judging by the look of complete shock on his face.
The spare bedroom in this house must be in the basement or some other private area of the house if he was so sure he wasn't going to get caught!
A Serious Grilling
This kid must have seriously made some bad friendship decisions in the past for his mother to post something like this to Facebook. "I would like you to answer a questionnaire to continue being friends with him on this website."
Wow, that's mortifying! We can't help but wonder if the new friend actually answered her series of questions or decided it wasn't worth the effort. We're guessing it's the latter.
Even The Tooth Fairy's Handing Out Punishments These Days
Well, it's been a while since we had a visit from the tooth fairy but even so, this is a new one. The "tooth fairy" left Emily a note saying that her bedroom was such a disaster zone that she couldn't even find the pillow to leave money underneath.
Now Emily has to clean her room before she can collect her prize money. Hey, at least she'll be motivated to do it.
Don't Try Him
You gotta take a dad like this seriously. This t-shirt (emblazoned with a photo of his face and the words "Try Me!!") is apparently the result of a disagreement between father and daughter. She obviously lost and now has to wear the humiliating shirt as punishment.
We think the best thing about this photo, though, is the look of absolute joy on the dad's face. He won this disagreement fair and square and wants to gloat about it now.
5'9", 10 Years Old
This girl was busted so bad! Her dad caught her sneaking around, lying about her age, and trying to date when she's only 10 years old. So he put up a scathing post on Facebook, complete with a custom shirt identifying her real age and a childish backpack.
That's not enough, she had to wear the t-shirt out in public. Wow. If that's not going to get the boys to stay away, we don't know what will!
Keep Those Grades Up
This student was maintaining a D average at school, so Dad came up with this clever punishment. The kid's phone is locked up behind that glass, with the caption "In Case of 'B' Break Glass." It's like a mini fire extinguisher case.
We bet those grades skyrocketed pretty quick as soon as the kid saw his phone privilege taken away. Either that or they went out, got a job, and paid for their own phone.
Money Breakdown
So Aaron feels like a big shot now that he has a job and is making a little money. Mom isn't going to put up with his new attitude and makes that clear in this note which outlines all the costs he'll have to contribute to the household now. D'oh.
We bet Aaron wasn't feeling quite so cocky about his part-time job after seeing the list of utilities his parents pay every month.
The TMI Punishment
One mom was unhappy that her kid had posted "personal information" about someone online, so she came up with the perfect punishment. She got on her son's Facebook account and posted all about the situation, including that she thought his post was "rude."
Then she included the fact that he wet the bed until he was eight years old. "I thought he should know how it feels when the tables were turned." Bet he never did anything like that again.
He Won't Forget Anything Again
This hilarious entry makes us wonder how many times this has happened. Surely once mom started bringing Ryan's forgotten items to school in a hot pink Victoria's Secret bag he got a lot smarter about remembering his things. Well, we'd hope, at least.
Who knows, though. Maybe he liked the attention he got from having his bologna sandwiches and Doritos hand-delivered to him in the lingerie store's pink logo bag.

We've seen enough of these types of social media posts now that it's a little hard to believe kids are still trying to brag about themselves online. This girl claims that she "didn't choose the thug life, the thug life" chose her. Doesn't her look, with that big friendly smile, just scream "thug" to you?
Not so fast there... according to dad, she's still scared of the dark. Sooooo thug.
Must Heed Curfew Or Sleep On The Patio
These parents were fed up with their kid coming home past curfew, so they did something about it. This note on the door is perfect. "You may sleep on the patio. I have been generous this time and provided a blanket."
It's actually a pretty generous offer, especially if breaking curfew is a big deal in this household. Which we're guessing it is. The kid has to decide between coming home on time or sleeping on the patio now.
Doesn't Pay To Lie
For some reason, it seems like parents hate it when their kids lie to them... hence all the hilarious punishments we're seeing here. This deceitful child is being forced by her dad to stand out in public holding a sign telling the world that she's a liar.
This one is rough, and you can tell by the look on the kid's face that she's pretty embarrassed. Wonder if they're parked at school or somewhere else?
This Is So Weird
There's nothing more endearing than when someone pretends to be like you... except when it's your mother, then it becomes embarrassing. I think the craziest part of this is how uncanny the resemblance is. His mom did this so well it was really tough to tell them apart at first.
What's next, is she going to show up at his high school now and take his exams for him the way identical twins do in the movies?
Re-Painting Parenting
Painting the house can be a real pain in the behind, especially when it’s left up to you and not the professionals. However, it looks like these parents decided to have a little fun with the laborious task while they were at it.
They painted the entire house with the exception of one child’s window where they left the word “dork” with an arrow pointing in. Thanks, Mom and Dad!
I’m A Cool Mom!
Mean Girls reference, for the win! This mom proves that she has definitely stayed in touch with her cool side by referencing the classic teen film. Not to mention, her use of the meme was exquisite after responding with “Why are you so obsessed with me?” after her child’s constant beckoning.
This mom seems like she would definitely be a lot of fun! See, parents and teenagers can get along fine sometimes.
Grandpa Doesn’t Play
These two grandkids thought it was hilarious when their tired old grandfather settled in for a little afternoon nap. Of course, the poor man deserves to rest without being bothered, especially after dealing with two mischievous grandsons such as these.
However, it seems as though Grandpa was definitely the one who got the last laugh. Even though he doesn't have quite as mean an expression on his face as the kids did when they were in his situation.
iPad Prank
Well, playing jokes on your kids who have been begging for an iPad seems to be all the rage with parents these days. Apparently, this parent is both a big fan of the show The Big Bang Theory and also a big fan of playing jokes on their kid.
Imagine the crushing moment of opening what you think is a brand new iPad only to find that inside is merely a joke t-shirt.
Canine Replacement
After the child in this family embarked on their college journey, this family made no bones about replacing him and his bedroom with the family dog and all the dog's stuff. In fact, they went so far as to send this photographic evidence of the dog enjoying his new room complete with headphones, McDonald's meals, and that famous painting.
Although it is simply a photoshopped photo, we bet the kid felt a little twinge of sadness when he saw this!
Snaps Forever
While Snapchat is supposed to be used for the temporary photos you can share with your family and friends, this mom loved her kids' Snaps that she actually had them printed out.
We wonder if you’ll find any of these Snaps framed around the house. Let’s hope the kids were on their best behavior and didn’t let their sweet Mom see any bad behavior snaps. If that happened, we're sure those would end up online too.
Ultimate Burn
After this thoughtful kid posted what should have been an inspirational quote about it never being too late to start over and start something new, this parent couldn’t help but respond in the snarkiest way ever.
The kid talks about “starting over and creating something better” and the parent replies, “and that’s why you have a brother!” We wouldn't be surprised if it was a dad who said this one!
Your Brother, The Mushroom
These parents got extremely creative when their children refused to take baths. In the lower right corner, you might notice that there is a photo of a mushroom. These parents told their children that they used to have a brother but he was turned into a mushroom after refusing to bathe for a long time.
Apparently, the ruse actually worked to keep their kids clean. Rest in peace, mushroom brother!
Please Stop
The best way to make a kid feel uncomfortable if you're a parent is to bring up anything that has to do with how they were conceived. Your kid has probably convinced himself that he was born of an immaculate conception, therefore, telling otherwise will almost certainly rattle his cage and gross him out.
This parent took things a step further and posted their conception story on social media for all the kid's friends to see. That's harsh.
Seriously, Ghostbusters II?
This VHS was previously labeled as Matthew’s 1st Birthday, which was then scratched out to say, “Ghostbusters II”. This kid's parent’s wanted him to think that they felt the sequel in the series was more important than their child’s first birthday ever on this earth. Yikes!
Although we think this is a joke, it's also quite possible that Matthew himself requested the movie to be recorded over. But it's probably a prank.
Nailed It
The kids in this photo are quite talented, performing a challenging dance lift for a photo at Epcot. Their older parents took the creative route to reenact the daring move (on the carpet).
The outcome is one adorable photo that we think is one that deserves framing. It's so cute that they're on the ground in order to get the positioning right. We really hope these kids appreciate their adorably cheesy parents!
This Kid Needs Aloe For This Burn
This child implores their Mom to stop making jokes because she is “not funny” and “you never make jokes.” The Mom replies with one of the best burns ever by saying, “I made you!” Ouch kid there’s no recovering from an intense burn like that!
Joanne Has Arrived
This hilarious Mom made quite the impression when she showed up like the disheveled Internet character Joanne the Scammer to pick up their child from school. She nailed the costume, down to the fake fur coat and messy wig.
Although the daughter might have been embarrassed in the short term, we bet that all the kids in the schoolyard got a kick out of the visit from the impromptu celebrity.
The Face Says It All
This mom looks to be having the time of her life after she took off on her little boy’s tricycle. The little boy’s face tells another story and he definitely doesn’t look impressed with the matter.
We better there is only more silly antics to come from this mom in the future, and we hope the child is prepared for them! Based on this picture, she looks like she might have a bunch of tricks up her sleeve.
Help Me
This Mom showed up to an event for her son with a double-sided poster board. On one side, it says “Joe, it's me -- MOM! Remember me?” The back side says, “He’s my baby!” with a giant arrow.
While we can’t help but admire Mom’s love for her son, we think her son’s face says “Help me!” We're sure he was able to laugh about this incident later, even if he wasn't at the time.

Most young girls have at least one landmark occasion where they get all dolled up go to a formal dance. This young girl is no different and is posing in her special dress on the front porch to capture the moment forever.
