This Dad Started Sending Creative Photos Whenever His Girlfriend Checked In On Their Daughter
After giving birth, most parents struggle with leaving their baby home once they have to go back to work because they're nervous about being apart from them. You want to make sure your children are safe so you end up calling the babysitter six times on the first night you leave your tiny tot in the hands of someone else.
Kenny Deuss and his girlfriend were no different than any other parent.
A Little Light Reading
Kenny and his girlfriend are from Antwerp, Belgium, and in 2019 they welcomed their first child together, Alix. Like any new parents, it was an adjustment to now have a little one to look after!
The Sky's The Limit
Kenny quickly found that whenever he and his daughter were home alone, his girlfriend had a tendency to check in on them...frequently, and ask how the daddy-daughter duo was getting along.
Enjoying The View
After the first few check-ins, Kenny decided that he and Alix would have a little fun with their responses and so their project of @onadventurewithdad was started—much to his girlfriend's dismay!
Making New Friends
Thanks to a lot of creativity and a little bit of Photoshop magic, Alix and Kenny were able to show her mom all the adventures she was taking during her days home with her dad.
Look, Mom! No Hands!
Once Kenny and Alix were going on more frequent adventures to keep themselves entertained, Kenny also decided to share the photos with people other than his girlfriend and her coworkers, because why not?
Helping Dad With The Renovations
Home renovation skills are never a bad thing to develop! Alix is able to hold the power drill, and she can hold her own head up, so it seems like the perfect ask for her.
Up, Up, And Away
All it would take in real life for her to float away would be a couple of helium balloons, but rather than risk that—or risk the wrath of his girlfriend—Kenny stuck with the fake floating.
Cheaper Than A Cleaning Lady
She may not be as thorough as your last cleaning lady, but shouldn't the one who threw all the Cheerios on the ground also be the one who has to clean up the mess?
Living Life Dangerously
If no one is willing to take her to the park, she's going to learn how to drive herself there! First comes four-wheeling, next she'll move on to full-sized vehicles.
Serving Looks And Serving Drinks
It's never too early to start teaching your children about valuable skills, right? She could kill it in the service industry if she's been honing her bartending skills since she was a baby.
Shredding The Half-Pipe
The advantage to photoshopping your toddler into a photo of them skateboarding rather than actually allowing them to do it is that they can do all the cool tricks they want without having to wear kneepads or a helmet.
Stepping Into The Void
There's nothing like a little space exploration to brighten the mind and influence the youth of tomorrow, right? As long as they're home in time for dinner, it should be fine to step into the void.
Let The Rain Fall Down
For scenes like this one, at first glance, you'd think that Kenny was risking his baby catching a serious cold, but any type of situation like this one is completely fabricated.
Where Do You Think You're Going?
Every parent knows what kind of trouble their tiny tot can get into once the crawling and walking stages begin, and these kids are speedy! You have to keep them contained so you can enjoy the quiet.
Lettuce Talk About This When We Get Home
Looking at a photo like this one, you'd actually be able to convince yourself quite easily that Alix really was forgotten in one of the vegetable bins at the grocery store.
It's Just Apple Juice In The Cups
It may be just apple juice in the cups for now, but by the time she reaches college, she'll be dominating the beer pong tables, impressing all her friends with her trick shots.
Use The Obstacles To Your Advantage
If you're looking for new obstacles or a way to challenge your skateboarding skills, nothing will challenge you like a baby. Sit her down and get to jumping, you know she's not going anywhere!
The Ultimate Daddy-Daughter Duo
If Mom is working the night shift or out with her friends, that means Kenny and Alix are able to finally put on that rock concert that they've been working on for weeks.
Lazy Lady
Alix decided she really wasn't down for that whole "walking" thing on this day, but Kenny decided he didn't feel like carrying her around anymore, so this is the compromise they came up with.
The Force Is Strong
He may be her father, but that doesn't mean she's going to let him win this lightsaber battle! She won't be going down without a fight...or maybe a light push, depending on how stable those little legs are.
Checking Out The Chimney
She's just up there to check out the view of the neighborhood and see if the chimney is clean enough ahead of Santa's visit on Christmas Eve! She wouldn't want her presents to get dirty.
Looking For Her Midnight Snack
And by "midnight" snack, we mean 7 p.m. Regardless of the time, she was meant to be napping, and instead, she escaped to the refrigerator, and now she's been caught red-handed
Who's Teaching Who?
If Alix was responsible for drawing that bunny rabbit, they've got quite the little artist on their hands. She could definitely teach her dad a few things during their art classes.
This Is BBC News At Night
Well, if no one else is available to report on the news tonight, Alix can step up to do the job. Just make sure she has an extra long nap in the afternoon so she's not too cranky.
Let's Hope She's Got Good Balance
Having good balance isn't exactly something that a one-year-old is known for having, but I guess she'll only get better with practice, right? Let's hope she's got some sort of invisible harness for this one.
She's On Dinner Duty Tonight
She may be responsible for cooking dinner tonight, but that doesn't mean that she's responsible for cooking something you want to eat. Raw veggies is what you're getting when the toddler is in charge of dinner.
Dad Probably Won't Notice The Credit Card Charge
For your safety as well as her own, Alix is going to need your credit card information to make some very crucial purchases and no, Kenny, you can't question them.
Don't Stop 'Til The AM
Just because Dad is a little tired does not mean that the party needs to stop! She can keep on going on her own as long as she's got someone to change her diaper in the morning.
When An Ordinary Bike Ride Just Won't Do
Want the bad news first? Well, daddy and daughter appear to be suspended in mid-air on a dirt bike. There IS good news, though: they are both wearing safety helmets.
Keeping A Close Eye On Things
There's nothing out of the ordinary here, folks. Just a dad and daughter taking a look around from the safety of their balcony. As he pointed out, he is "on the look out for all the dangers in the streets." Clearly, he has eagle eyes.
Mom's First Day Back To Work After The New Baby, Aster, Arrives
On mom's first day back to work after her maternity leave had ended, she reminded Kenny to be sure and feed Aster. This might not have been the type of meal she had in mind, but technically it is food. Aster might need to grow some teeth before tackling this meal.
You Come Down Here This Instant, Young Lady
You might be tempted to criticize Kenny for his unusual parenting technique, but you can't claim he isn't concerned about safety. In this photo, for example, he is asking his daughter to come down from a railing that's just a little bit too high for his comfort.
Laundry And Bath Rolled Into One
Dad Kenny is carefully inspecting some laundry while his infant daughter hangs out to dry on the line. What a clever way to combine laundry day and a baby bath into one easy task!
A Breezy Birthday
For Alix's second birthday, the family had a quiet party in the backyard. Nothing at all eventful happened under Kenny's watchful eye. He captioned this one, "we're having a blast!" We can see that!
Caffeine Addict
Kenny looks tired in this pic, like he could use a nice cup of coffee. Oh wait, he already has one and is spilling it all over the baby's face. Of course. "A hot cup of coffee makes my day." Ours, too.
Painting The Hallway
We wonder what surprised mom more about this photo: the fact that her hallway is being repainted while she's out or the fact that her young daughter is perched high up on a ladder? We just hope she enjoys the color that Kenny and Alix decided on!
Alix Was Left In Charge
It appears that Alix posted this update herself. "Dad left me in charge of Aster today so I gave her a bath." It certainly looks like she's doing a nice job of bathing her little sister!
Doing All The Heavy Lifting
Wow, Kenny is certainly lucky to have his young daughter Alix around to help him out. How would he have managed to sweep under the sofa if she wasn't there to do all the heavy lifting?
Traffic Jam
Check out this traffic jam photo that Kenny sent to mom! He even enlisted the help of a friend or neighbor to drive in the second vehicle and angrily shake his fist at little Alix for holding up traffic on her trike.
That's One Way To Celebrate
In this family, you're never too young to learn to ignite a rocket in the backyard. It looks like Alix is already a pro at lighting fireworks... she's got a bright future ahead of her at this rate!
