Recreated Family Photos That Show That Time Is Really Nothing But A Construct
Time may pass but it has a funny way of creating a cycle. These pictures make it seem like time isn't actually linear, but rather that it goes in circles.
From kids who look exactly like their parents to dresses that get passed on from generation to generation, we can't help but wonder if the essence of time is even real, or if it's all just a construct.
Two Generations Of Love
"It took a lot of searching, but my fiancé and I finally found the same spot in Central Park where my grandparents took this photo back in the 40s." — Garmonboziac13 / Reddit
Maybe they'll give these photos to their own children, who will one day stand there and take the same picture.
Three Generations, One Dress
The grandma wore it first in1964 then the mom in 1991, and finally the granddaughter in 2017.
What's incredible is that all three generations wore the same dress size and had the same build to be able to fit in that fitted dress.
Always A Mama's Boy
Just because you grow up, doesn't mean you stop being a mama's boy.
This grown boy recreated his mom's favorite photo of them for Mother’s Day and you can tell he still holds his mom dear.
Double The Trouble
On the left is one of two sisters with her niece in 2012. On the right is the other one's turn to hold her sister's baby in 2020.
They even passed on their "auntie is the best" onesie so their babies can have matching photos.
Like Looking In The Mirror
"My mom at age 17 in 1975, me at age 26. Not identical, but I get why everyone says I look like her." — Earthbaby87 / Reddit
If it weren't for the vintage effect on the photo on the left, this could easily pass as the same person in both pictures.
Denim Lasts Forever
"My son and I. Same outfit, 27 years apart."— ryguytheman / Reddit
They don't make clothes of good enough quality to last that long anymore. These two look like they were both the coolest kids in town. Maybe the cool factor runs in their jeans.
What Goes Around Comes Around
"Me as a boy in 1965 with newly completed model airplane minutes before destroying it on the maiden flight. Also me 56 years later with surprise Christmas gift from co-worker of an identical replica." — No-Mathematician7105 / Reddit
What are the odds that the co-worker would gift him the exact replica? This is the work of the universe!
The Brotherhood Never Dies
It seems like the biggest difference is that the amount of hair tripled over the years. Now all three are rocking facial hair.
It's like they orchestrated the order of how big they were growing their beards too, with the youngest sibling sporting the shortest beard.
A Man's Best Friend
"Coconut and me 11 years apart (ages 3 and 14 for her, and 14 and 25 for me). Always a good sport. Best dog to grow up with." — AsymptoticAbyss / Reddit
Funny enough he happened to capture the two eras in which tie-dye shirts were popular, the 90s and today.
Beauty Never Goes Out Of Style
Although the grandma's picture on the left is in black and white, it seems as though she was ginger-haired as well!
A ginger child can only be born if both parents carry the gene. We wonder if the granddaughter will also find a partner who carries the gene.
An Extra Set Of Hands
"From the beginning, he's always been giving me a helping hand. 23 years later, I've graduated from college and he's still there for me when I need him." — cdrdj / Reddit
Let's just hope, he doesn't actually still need a hand with the water fountain as a fully grown man.
Still The Queen Of Sass
"Me and my sister 20 years apart. 1998 - 2018. My parents are hilarious humans." — TookThisName / Imgur
Sass isn't just a personality trait, it's practically a lifestyle. It may start young but it stays with you forever. The balloons, however, you do have to grow into.
Harvard's Longest Standing Student
For someone who was accepted into Harvard so young, he's been there a really long time now. That would be 19 years to be exact as the first photo was taken on the first day of pre-school.
Must have been quite the prestigious daycare.
Dads Are Their Kids' Real Life Heroes
This boy clearly looked up to his dad. As a kid, he predicted that one day he would follow in his father's footsteps, become his partner and catch bad guys.
Fast forward twenty years and they're both sporting the uniform.
You're Never Too Old For Disneyland
We're quite impressed that despite not looking like the fittest man, this dad was still able to carry his son on his shoulders no matter how big he got.
Unless he spent every day leading up to it training for this moment.
One Big Happy Family
This seems like the kind of family where every member has their own big personality.
Even after 23 years, neither one has lost their silliness and ability to have their personality shine through a still picture.
