Parents Share The Petty Things Their Kids Just Won’t Let Them Live Down
Do you know what the most dangerous weapon a kid can have over his parents is? Blackmail. Good luck trying to get your kid in trouble when they remind you of all your own mistakes.
Overcook a quesadilla one time and your kid will label you as a bad cook for the rest of time. No matter how petty your mistake was, you're not living it down with them around.
The Summer Of '19
Here I am not even able to remember what I had for breakfast, and this kid remembers that her quesadilla was overcooked on one side two years ago.
The impressive part is that she would've only been three years old at the time of the incident.
A Juice Bottle That Works
In this mom's defense, she is not responsible for the faulty manufacturing of this juice bottle. The odds of a juice box missing a hole are the same odds of a computer making a mathematical mistake.
Chances are all juice bottles "worked" after that day.
Mayo Is Not A Substitute For Butter
You would be surprised at how many people shared their own stories of their fathers making atrocious mistakes with their mac and cheese.
While this dad beats them all by replacing butter with mayo, other dads got creative by adding salsa, or replacing milk with oyster juice.
Sadness All Around
It was a truly tragic day in this household when, from the get-go, the waffles were burned and the day was ruined.
Unfortunately, life had to keep going and Dad still had to go to work, leaving the family to grieve in tears.
Worthy Of An Essay
Believe it or not, if you Google "chocolate chili," you will find a multitude of recipes. Perhaps this dish was created through a similar mistake.
If pork can be both and sweet and sour and we glaze chicken with honey, why can't we add chocolate to chili? The world is our oyster!
"What Kind Of Dad Are You Anyway?"
What constitutes the making of the right kind of snack? Wait till this kid gets old enough to realize that a day will come when no one even brings them a snack in the first place.
The wrong snack won't seem so bad then, and neither will his dad.
The Good Old Cookie Days
Mom is probably too busy dealing with her kid's sassy remarks to find the time to make cookies anymore.
If they want cookies so bad, they're old enough to start helping her make them. Maybe then they'll realize how much work truly goes into it.
The One That Got Away
This actually is a good opportunity to teach the kid a valuable lesson: "you snooze, you lose."
Might as well learn that lesson young because it doesn't take long to realize that no one waits around for you in this world.
What Would Chef Gordon Ramsay Think?
We're inclined to think that Gordon Ramsay wouldn't include meatloaf in his menu in the first place. It doesn't seem fancy enough for his standards.
This kid could have a bright future as a restaurant critique, though. He could even be a chef himself.
Mommy Burned All The Toys
On the bright side, it sounds like someone is getting a whole new array of toys! Kids get bored with their toys so fast and always go for the new shiny thing anyway.
If anything, this is a win for the kid, who should instead be bragging about all the new toys he's about to get.
No Reason To Get Scared
Apparently the concept of "better safe than sorry" is not one that flies with kids these days. Especially when they're the ones who cry and get scared at everything.
Yet when Mom does it, she never gets to live it down.
Money Doesn't Come Easy
Do we have an investor in the making? This little girl found a way to at least triple the earnings she would've gotten from the Tooth Fairy.
It's all about knowing how to present your case and saying all the right things.
Parents Can Be Wrong Too
This kid's got a point... If she was wrong before, you never know what else she could be wrong about. Are vegetables even that good for you? Do you really have to be in bed by 9 p.m. to feel rested the next day?
This could lead to an early existential crisis!
The Economy System
If you think about it, this is not much different than the economic system we live in. On a bigger scale, we earn money that we put in banks, and then we use that money to pay for the services we need.
Sometimes, the government takes it directly on our behalf, such as with taxes. Let this be his first lesson in economy.
Trust Issues Always Lead Back To Childhood
Trust issues don't come out of nowhere. In fact, many psychologists agree that the root of these issues almost always leads back to childhood trauma.
In this case, it all goes back to the moment a trusted parent tried to pass off banana pudding for vanilla.
It Only Took 41 Years
Well, it turns out some of these mistakes are salvageable after all. It doesn't matter how much time has passed, it's better late than never to make up for them.
Only then will your kids maybe let you live them down!
