Outrageous Displays Of Laziness That Were Almost Impressive
Every now and then, it's imperative to take a lazy day or two. So many people are overworking themselves every day, and they often don't realize how bad it gets until they hit their breaking point. But for others, a lazy couple of days can stretch beyond a lazy couple of weeks into a lazy couple of years.
And while that can be annoying on its own if they're supposed to be contributing to bills, some people find a way to let that laziness bleed into every aspect of their lives. Their commitment to never lifting a finger would be impressive if it weren't so frustrating.
Yeah, they're really not supposed to do this
While it's hardly impossible to see the logic behind this postal worker's "creative" choice of parking spot, that doesn't mean it's allowed. All it takes is one customer complaint before this person catches an earful when they get back to the office.
After all, a lot of people are really protective of their lawns. And having a mail truck roll over it is both the kind of thing they'd notice and especially the kind of thing they'd complain about. The shortcut isn't always worth it, folks.
It's even lazier than it looks
At first glance, it's natural to think that what makes this such a sterling example of laziness on display is their choice to name this restaurant "Chicken." But while that is a pretty lazy name, there's something brilliant about the next level of laziness in this photo.
This building used to belong to the budget mobile provider Cricket, which means that the new owners only had to change two letters to make their sign. It's pretty brilliant, even though it's resulted in this weird color scheme.
This is so cute. At least, it is for everyone else
The man who took this picture just wanted to mow the lawn. But since this dog turned out to be as stubborn as she is lazy, she wasn't going to make that easy for him. Of course, it turned out she wasn't the only stubborn one.
He mowed as much of the lawn as he could without hurting her, and from the looks of it, she was riveted to this very spot the whole time. Even as the grass clipping poured on her, it looked like she stayed as still as a statue. It was probably annoying for him, but it's definitely adorable to everyone else.
The definition of "brilliant but lazy."
A lot of people don't like it when people take out their phones to film a concert, but it would be an interesting experiment to find out if this is better or worse for them. Would the ingenuity and reclined position justify the filming, or would the laziness on display annoy them even more?
It's almost hard to even call this laziness because while lying down at a concert fits that bill, having to hold up one arm for so long really doesn't. Perhaps even in laziness, certain sacrifices need to be made.
Lazier doesn't always mean easier
Wherever this woman is going with her baby, she was apparently baffled at the idea of people actually walking while they're pushing a stroller. It's hard to wonder if she thinks that because the baby doesn't have to walk anywhere, neither should see.
But while there's something incredible about her commitment to standing still, it doesn't really seem like this is that convenient. Does it not take some extra coordination to keep the Segway and the stroller moving the same way?
Close enough?
It's hard to tell what led one shopper to abandon this weirdly photogenic clove of garlic, but their incorrect place for it makes at least a little sense. It's near another garlic product, right? Maybe someone will decide they'd rather have this, and the problem will take care of itself.
Yeah, that's not very likely. Unfortunately, that doesn't help the poor store employee who has to clean up rotting garlic once the other customers ignore this. Of course, putting it back where they found it was just too much work.
It doesn't get any more relaxing than this
Although most people don't lay on a pool chair face-down, that's because they also don't typically have the vision to put a drink under the chair and run a straw through its gaps. Perhaps everybody else has been doing it wrong all along?
That said, a lot of people can recognize that they're unlucky enough to find a way to spill this drink. It may be kind of hard without any hands touching it, but just like life found a way in Jurassic Park, messes find a way in real life.
People can be competitive about anything
This garbage can pile up may have started out of laziness, but it's clearly continuing out of either spite or a sense of spirited competition. It depends on how much the people involved like each other, but it's certainly down to the wire either way.
One thing that's a little strange about laziness is how fiercely people can commit to it once they set their minds to it. After all, it would probably be easier to just take out the trash than it would be to keep this going.
This both defeats and fulfills the purpose
Sitting on a box seems like standard college student fare, but it's a little different when there's supposed to be a chair in that box. And it's doubly different when the person doing it is at work and not in a dorm.
But as weird and lazy as this is, this person will have to use that chair eventually. After all, cardboard isn't exactly the sturdiest material. How will they put off putting the chair together when it finally breaks?
If it's stupid and it works, it's not stupid
Although it seems like it would be easier to just pick up a drink than to build a pipeline of straws, the fact that he was able to make this work at all is pretty incredible. His buddy seems less than impressed, though.
Thinking about it, it's easy to see his point. Although this may work for now, one doesn't have to be Nostradamus to predict the mess this will make when it leaks. And it's already clear who won't be cleaning it up.
Want to make someone irrationally angry?
For the more mischievous people in the world, all it takes to drive everyone else in the house up the wall is to put a roll of toilet paper on top of the holder. It's not a big deal in a vacuum, and it doesn't make it much harder to use the roll, but the most infuriating actions are sometimes the smallest.
Whether it's sheer laziness or how much it disrupts the automatic reaction of reaching where the paper should be, people really can't stand it. It would be one thing if it were in a public bathroom, but household toilet paper holders simply aren't that hard to use.
They couldn't move the brush just a little further, huh?
This bizarrely snowy vehicle was spotted in a parking garage, but it's honestly amazing that it even got that. After all, peripheral vision is really important when a few thousand pounds of metal can come barreling from any direction.
But it's not even the fact that this dangerously lazy person made it in one piece that's so incredible. One of the reasons that other drivers hate when people do this is that this pile of snow could end up sitting on their windshields. How has this not already fallen off?
Is this really any easier?
On one hand, it's admittedly impressive that this person can pump their gas without even getting out of their car. Most people really wouldn't think of scooting into the back seat and leaning out the window.
On the other hand, part of the reason why most people wouldn't think of leaning out of their back window is that there's no real reason why they would need to do that. It seems easier and more comfortable on the body to just get out of the car and pump it the normal way.
How long did these take to collect?
Without getting too graphic, some trips to the bathroom can make a roll of toilet paper run out surprisingly quickly. But this is clearly the result of months, if not years, of utter laziness. There are enough toilet paper rolls here for a grade school art project.
Whoever the poor soul was who posted this, they're right. There really is no excuse for a bathroom with enough spent toilet paper rolls to cover the whole mat. Imagine what the other rooms must be like.
This is the best sign that it's time to move
For those wondering what's going on here, some landlord was apparently so lazy and inattentive that they actually painted a cockroach into the wall. Not only is that a worrying sign of what that apartment has in store, but it proves the landlord isn't going to do much about the infestation.
It is admittedly kind of amusing that it looks like the roach is in the middle of dancing, but that doesn't make it any more unsightly. And the landlord better not try to use that as an excuse.
This seems to happen at every parking lot now
No matter how much people titter about it online, there will always be someone who just leaves their shopping cart at their parking spot rather than taking it back to the cart return. However, it's got to be particularly demoralizing when four people all have that same idea at once.
Actually, what probably happened is that one did it first, which then encouraged three others to do it because they weren't the only ones behaving badly. This is why teachers have to separate certain friends in school.
At some point, it was easier just to do this
So, it probably doesn't take much detective work to figure out what happened here. Somebody kept mixing up the coffee and tea canisters so often that they eventually decided to switch the names.
Sure, one might expect the arduous process of switching the contents of these things to work well as a deterrent from making this mistake again. But sometimes, trying to influence that kind of change becomes a lot like swimming against the current. It's easier to go with the flow.
Well, at least there's no doubt that the kid is being watched
Nobody could call this parent inattentive, but there's still a reason why most people don't park their cars right at the edge of the playground. What is it, 20 feet to the street from there? That's pretty walkable.
And before anyone asks, Reddit user tinderbindervinder confirmed that based on the way they got out and wandered around the car at times, they didn't park this way because of a disability. But in their defense, the car has air conditioning, and the great outdoors doesn't.
This just crossed the line between laziness and spite
Although there are certainly examples of people who made things harder for themselves by being lazy, there's no way that whoever put these paper towels here didn't realize that's what they were doing. After all, they can't get past the wrapping to use them any more than their roommates can.
That's what makes it hard not to think that they were more focused on irritating their roommate than on making things any easier for themselves. Either that, or they mostly use their shirt sleeves to clean up messes and weren't worrying about the paper towels anyway.
Knowing what happened here doesn't make it hurt less
Sometimes, even a pile of seemingly random litter will have a way of telling a story. And while this trash doesn't exactly tell an epic tale, it's clear what kind of laziness and rudeness unfolded here.
From the looks of it, someone took their family through the drive-through and pulled in to eat what they got from McDonald's. Once they were done, they just left everything on the ground and drove away. Who wants to bet they parked for more than ten minutes, too?
This isn't wrong, exactly
It's hard to argue with a lazy tactic when the result has them using something just as effectively as they would have the normal way. The only difference here is that the door ends up slightly more open than when the doorstop is out of the package.
Sure, the package will eventually crumple up, and the doorstop will end up poking out anyway, but that just means the package opened itself. This may be laziness, but at least it's patient laziness.
Well, at least this lazy tactic involves developing a skill
Sure, this person could have gotten up and flipped this light switch themselves. But what does that teach them? They already know how to stand up and walk, and that's not something that generally needs practice.
However, they're practicing their accuracy by staying sitting and using Nerf darts to turn the lights on and off. And based on that grouping, they need a lot more practice. Soon enough, they'll be able to turn the lights on and off with one shot each.
This laziness is subtle, but it's pretty infuriating
At first, there doesn't seem to be too much wrong with this picture. It's just an aisle in a grocery store, right? Well, to understand what people would shake their heads at here, one must take a closer look at the items on this shelf.
There are two jugs of milk at the bottom left corner, which is a real problem because somebody left them to spoil outside of the fridge. Worse yet, the fridge is only about 10 feet away from the shelf. This is not the fun kind of laziness.
That is one special offer
It's one thing to grab something in a store and then put it down on a random shelf when it's no longer needed. It's aggravating and contributes to food waste, but it's common enough that people come to expect it to a degree.
However, it's a bit more beyond the pale to leave something that the store doesn't even sell behind. At least the placement is kind of funny because this coffee better be 20% off if somebody was already drinking from it.
There was more neglect here than they let on.
As Reddit user atafies tells it, all it took was a few days of not washing the dishes before this plant sprouted out of their sink. This led other commenters to suspect that they weren't being entirely honest about how long their spate of laziness lasted.
After all, most plants need a few weeks to germinate to this point. Still, it's not necessarily the uploader's fault if some plant roots end up in their plumbing. This was nonetheless quite a thing not to notice, though.
The lazy party here isn't who it appears to be
A cursory glance at this situation may lead people to believe that the road crew were the lazy ones here. After all, who paints lines on a road when there is clearly debris blocking the paint from actually ending up on the road?
However, Reddit user Available-Elevator69 spoke from experience and explained that this situation was likely the city's fault due to the explicit terms of paint crews. Although they went over a few of these pre-established terms, the most relevant one was, "Insure the road surface has been swept. We are not sweepers."
Let he who is without sin toss the first can
On one hand, there's something pretty extreme about this level of laziness. The can was so close to its proper receptacle that all somebody had to do was gently prod it. And the fact that they didn't bother certainly comes off as lazy.
However, it's also true that most people are a lot more likely to do this than they are to leave perishable items lying around at the store or leave their cart in a parking lot. Anyone who would say "close enough" when they do it can't exactly judge this person.
If there's one time to be lazy, this is it
As timeless of a prank as it is, nobody's exactly thrilled to clean off toilet paper from their house. Granted, it's significantly better than getting egged, but it's still a pretty big nuisance. However, it's probably not going to take too much of a cleanup this time around.
However, that fact seemed to disappoint Reddit user optimusbeer, who saw it as a sign of how lazy younger generations have become. That said, there still isn't much to complain about because they said the toilet paper was still usable. There's an advantage to that laziness.
It's admittedly inventive but still pretty unnecessary
Reddit user AncientChineseSecret mentioned that his razor recently broke, so so he's taken to sticking the head on a pair of pliers and getting the job done that way. Why? Because he's apparently too lazy to get another one.
Naturally, this led others to ask why he's not lazy enough to stop shaving if that's the case. In response, he said, "My skin is really sensitive, so it starts itching painfully if I don't shave every week." There are limits to laziness.
If this is the future, it's not that impressive
It's unclear what was once supposed to be at this tourist information desk, but what they've got in its place isn't terribly information. After all, people who wanted to Google the information they were looking for would have done so before they even approached this desk.
This is just begging people to start pranking the device by searching for things that aren't safe for work. That might have happened anyway, but spite is a powerful motivator. The best they can hope for is a Rickroll.
Now, this is some first-class laziness
Some people really go out of their way to be lazy, but this person is definitely a contender for the grand prize. And this definitely one of those cases where it seems easier just to walk the garbage bin to the curb.
After all, what does this person expect to happen if their grip slips and the bin tips over? Their car's not going to help them when they've got to pick up all that trash. And if they're too lazy to do that, the raccoons will make them regret it.
Who knew it was that easy?
In fairness, this is likely closer to a genuine mistake than an act of laziness. However, it's not like anyone can know for sure without knowing who was responsible for this. It does raise the question of how many people saw this before it went out, though.
In all likelihood, this was supposed to be a placeholder for a Spanish translation that somebody forgot to add. Hopefully, there isn't actually a clothing company out there whose management thinks the Spanish language works like Pokémon.
The cost of someone else's laziness in one picture
Reddit user ten10thsdriver explained that all a FedEx driver had to do to bring them their new tool cart was put it on a dolly and wheel it up to their door. However, they apparently didn't feel like getting it and even tossed aside the relevant plastic banding straps.
Instead, a neighbor told the Redditor that the driver rolled the box end over end until it made it to the door before they left it like this. This meant the destruction of the cart, which then had to be replaced by Home Depot, UPS, and yet another FedEx driver. It's amazing how much work one lazy person can create for other people.
It might be time to move
According to Reddit user diebolo, their roommate has left this fridge sitting with an ajar door for about a month. The fridge's door can't close all the way due to a buildup of ice, but that hasn't made her any more inclined to clear it away.
As the roommate apparently sees it, not being able to cool food properly and running up the electricity bill is worth not spending effort on fixing the problem. Not even when the solution is as simple as unplugging the fridge, putting a tub down to catch the excess water, and letting the ice melt.
It may look cool, but it shouldn't be like this
Somehow, this street light was covered in debris from a nearby tree, which makes it look like a dark, glowing wraith when it turns on at night. That would make for a pretty impressive Halloween decoration if it were intentional, but it clearly isn't.
Although it does admittedly look pretty awesome, it's a lot easier to feel that way from behind a screen than while coming across it on a dark and gloomy night. All these dead leaves are also getting in the way of that light's very purpose.
They had to go out of their way to mess this up
Sometimes, a lazy action can be so unnecessary and obnoxious that it's hard not to take it personally. It was as if the person responsible for a mess wasn't just allergic to making even the slightest effort but actively hated whoever had to deal with it.
After all, this shirt still has the hangar attached. That means that all the person who put it here had to do was take a second to hook it onto this rack. Of course, they just left it sitting on top of the rack instead. The disrespect is palpable.
It looks like the meme isn't making an impact
Sometimes, calling people out on their laziness only makes them more entrenched in their ways. And that seems to be exactly what happened after someone put up this little sign detailing exactly what they don't want to see.
As shown here, people are still piling cans over the bag and refusing to start a new one. At this point, it's hard to believe they're not writing something like "you can't stop me" on this meme. Of course, that may also be more work than they're willing to do.
Ah yes, the most seamless of kitchen designs
It's not unreasonable to raise a cabinet like this over a stove, and similar design decisions go unnoticed in all sorts of kitchens throughout the world. However, the reason they're easier to ignore is that all of the other cabinets are just as elevated.
But in this kitchen, it seems that someone wasn't prepared for the possibility that the people living here may want to cook food at some point. So, the other cabinets are positioned where they originally wanted them. It doesn't look like they could decide on what color they wanted, either.
There isn't much happening in this photo, but it's irritating
Even taking the rogue shopping cart aside, it's hard to imagine something more disrespectfully lazy than leaving a bunch of trash on a bench. It's not like other people want to clear someone else's junk when they're trying to sit down.
Of course, that's not even the most insulting part about it. Not only did they treat a public seat as a trash can, but they did so with an actual trash can just feet away. They might not even have had to get up to throw it away, and they still couldn't be bothered.
They couldn't have made it easier
It's sadly not unheard of to see bags of trash piled up in front of a dumpster like this. As nonsensical as it seems to take the trash all the way out to the dumpster only to forgo the final step, people do it all the time.
However, none of the usual excuses for that fly In this case. Anyone who wants to claim the lid is too heavy will have a fun time explaining how this open door got in their way. They just didn't want to take a few more steps.
