These Moms Embraced Their Funny Bone And Hopefully Passed It Along To Their Kids
We all know that dads are funny. Men assume their true form when they have kids and they can finally tell all those horribly wonderful dad jokes they've been holding onto for years.
But you know who else is funny? MOM. Moms deserve more credit because they are just as funny and witty as dad. So here are some funny mom moments for you to laugh at, including a woman who made a bingo card for her kid's graduation to keep the family entertained, and another mom who calls out her daughter's cheerleading skills on Facebook.
You're On Candid Camera
Kids grow up so fast, don't they? Everyone says to cherish the moments that they're little while you can, but this may not have one of the moments worth capturing...
This woman's mother-in-law took a series of photos of her daughter and titled it "Evolution of a temper tantrum." Honestly, it's the perfect piece of art for the front hall. Every guest knows what to expect right when they walk in the house, plus it'll be there for your daughter to begrudgingly take pictures with for years to come.
No One Likes Children's TV
Every parent understands the struggle of having to sit through children's TV shows and movies. And some are definitely worse than others. This mom, for instance, seems to have a hatred for Caillou, and she's not the only one.
Maybe you had to lie and say that they removed Frozen from Netflix, or you conveniently can't watch Paw Patrol cause that channel just spontaneously stopped working. You do what you have to do to survive, okay? We don't judge.
Who Gets The Last Laugh
Dalton Ross sent a cardboard cutout of himself to his mom while he was studying abroad for a semester in the U.K., but the joke backfired on him. He thought his family would laugh and probably stick the cutout in a corner of the house, but his mom began taking the cutout all over the place, so who's laughing now Dalton?
He went on dinner dates with Barbie, to family dinners, to sporting events, even to work with Susan. He didn't miss out on any opportunities, and his mom documented it all.
Making Her Stance Clear
Everyone with siblings knows their parents have a favorite child. It may change yearly, or even daily. It could solely be based on who isn't bugging them at that moment, but there's definitely a favorite. The key is they're never supposed to openly admit it.
This mom took the exact opposite approach by choosing to say it loud and proud, and display it on the mantle. Maybe this will serve as motivation for the other two to do better next year.
What's Better Than Chocolate?
Honestly, this was a great care package regardless of the bonus parts of it. A box filled with tootsie rolls might be a dental nightmare but it would be a college freshman's dream. Really any college student's dream...
Imagine finding out that more than 100 of them were actually money? This is the type of "prank" every mom should pull when their kids ask for money. This is true commitment too — the mom said it took her over 5 hours to roll all the bills.
Taking Out The Trash
Some moms send care packages full of tootsie roles disguised as money, others just send your favorite junk food from home.
Connor's mom though. Connor's mom means business. She sent her son a box of garbage — the garbage he was supposed to take out when he was home last. Yes, she really did the most to let her son know he still has to do his chores. Do you think moms are born passive aggressive or does it develop over time after they have children?
Free Labor
This mom is on a whole other level. She clearly knows how to work the system to her advantage.
Reddit user puppiesmakemelol shared this photo of their mom, who got some free manual labor out of a group of Mormons. The men showed up to her door and asked to speak with her, so she said if they wanted to talk they'd have to help her in the garden. And it actually worked. It's genius.
Bone-idle-itus
This mom thought it'd be funny to write her daughter a note detailing exactly why she was able to participate in PE Class. And she was right. Mrs. McEvoy is not here to joke around. Well, she is, but still.
You can picture the "back when I was a kid we used to walk 12 miles to school, uphill, with no shoes, in the snow" lecture that probably came along with this note.
Wise Words From Mom About Safety
Why are circus clowns always so stressed out? Because their job is intents.
This mom saw her opportunity and seized it. This just further proves the point that moms are witty and creative and deserve more credit. Hence why they deserve more appreciation for their jokes. And you know she's probably been waiting for the chance to use this joke for a while, but she couldn't waste it on any old moment, it had to be the right one.
The Only Way To Sit Through A 3-Hour Graduation
This mom understands the reality of her situation. Yes, she's obviously very proud and excited to see her child graduate. Do you know what she's not excited for though? Watching at least 300 other kids graduate too. So she decided to spice up the graduation ceremony for everyone and make it a little more bearable.
Some of the best ones on the card are "Someone does not understand how microphones work" "Someone shouts obnoxious nickname" and "Webster's Dictionary defines ___ as..."
Make A Wish
Sometimes you just have to work with the resources that you've got on hand. In this case, a family came to visit their daughter to celebrate her birthday but mom forgot to bring an essential item: birthday candles.
Rather than having no candles at all, mom decided to improvise and stick a full-size candle in the center. No harm no foul right? One user pointed out that this is actually better because you won't have to worry about wax dripping on the cake!
When Your Mom Roasts You
Here's an example of when your mom just wants you to find true love but feels you need a little push in the right direction. It comes from a place of love. She's just tired of being the one that has to entertain you at Thanksgiving dinner and family weddings.
The book, which is written by Croatian kindergarten students, has some great dating advice to follow, like "do whatever she wants. Don't do dangerous things!" and "Do a writing workshop so you can write her a letter of love." Words to live by, right?
No Parties
Know your audience, or in this case, know your kids. This mom knows she needs to remind them to close the fridge (don't people do this anyways?) and make sure the taps are all turned off (again, would someone just walk away with the water running?)
But this mom also knows she doesn't have to worry about any sort of damage being done to her house because her kids are well behaved. Or, as she likes to say, they're losers.
Don't Cry Over Spilt Peas
Anna's mom clearly appreciates a good pun, and we appreciate Anna's mom. The best part is how hard her mom is clearly laughing at the joke. We're even laughing at this joke, so who can blame her?
Anna captioned the photos "My mom just gasped and came into the front room and said 'I peed on the floor'" Don't lie, you chuckled. We know you must be green with envy over that pea pun.
Never Listen To Your Kids
You should never make your kids what they ask you to make them for dinner. You might as well make whatever you were planning to make (and by "planning" we mean completely making it up as you go along) because they won't want it anyways by the time it's ready.
If your kids are young enough, you could also just convince them what you're giving them is what they asked for. Oh, they wanted grilled cheese? Well, that's what it is, even though it's actually peanut butter and jelly.
When I Say Jump
Sometimes your mom is your biggest supporter, and other times she takes any chance to absolutely roast you. Unfortunately, this was her time to shine, and she did it in on Facebook so all your friends could see! It's called tough love. It's all about balance right? You win some you lose some.
So this girl might never become an Olympic gymnast or an NFL cheerleader but she probably has other talents... right?
When Your Kids Say 'You Never Buy Me Anything'
Moms may be the unsung heroes, but sometimes they want a little singing. This mom decided to remind her kids what exactly it is that she does for them — like put food on the table and give them a house to live in that has electricity and running water. It's mom guilt at its finest.
You don't even need to get them gifts anymore, just put bows all over the house on Christmas morning. Then remind your kids that your presence in their lives is their true present.
A Fresh Coat Of Paint
You were supposed to get up to help paint, but instead, you chose to sleep until noon, so this is your punishment. You kind of deserved it.
Lucky for these parents, this seems to be the front of the house. So it's on full display for all of the neighborhood to see! Do you think the parents have more than one child and just chose to single out the one, or does one child have the absolute joy of getting all of this mom's love?
The Ol' Switcheroo
There is pure skepticism in this child's eyes. She clearly does not believe this is the same orange soda as she had last week at her friends birthday party, but that's what mom gave her!
One Reddit user shared another genius idea for moms to deter their kids from wanting pop: give them black coffee but lie and say it's Coca Cola. Then they'll just think it tastes super bitter. Only give them a sip or two though or you'll have a really hyped kid.
Smile For The Camera
This mom, rather than interfering with her child's learning experiences, decided to take photos to document it. She herself admitted that "like a good mom, I grabbed a camera when she pulled this bag off the counter" They say you're supposed to let your children figure things out on their own, right?
In this case, supervising them from behind your camera was the best option so you can catch it all in picture form to laugh at later. She's earning her "World's Best Mom" mug one interaction at a time.
