Mom Makes A Cardboard Cutout Of Herself To Get Toddler To Stop Crying
Just about every new parent has wished that they had a clone to help them take care of their little human. Taking care of a young child is a full-time job, between cleaning up after them, changing dirty diapers, making sure they're fed, and also watching them to make sure they don't get hurt. Parents have to do it all and still manage to get regular chores done.
However, one Japanese couple came up with a brilliant way to help make the task a bit easier.
Peace And Quiet Is A Rare Commodity
Between the numerous tasks involved in parenting, there's also the harrowing and seemingly never-ending task of trying to keep them from crying as well.
Japanese mother Fuki Sato was having a really hard time with her one-year-old son, who would cry every time she left the room. Exhausted by having to spend every moment with him, she and her husband hatched a plan.
Fuki Found A Way To Be In Two Places At Once
Fuki's husband shared the story online, explaining that they made life-size cardboard cutouts of his wife, set one up just outside of their son's reach, and waited to see how he would react.
Hilariously enough, their son just continued to play without noticing that his mother wasn't really there.
In Fact, He Was Just Fine
Fuki's husband continued to share that the boy was more than happy to play with his toys while his cardboard mom watched over him, smiling the whole time.
Don't worry—Fuki's husband was nearby the whole time to watch over the youngster and make sure that he was safe while Fuki was out of sight.
While Effective, It's Used Sparingly
Fuki's husband explained that his wife's absence went unnoticed by their son for up to 20 minutes, and that she was nearby the whole time just getting other tasks done and that she'd look in to check in every once in a while.
He stresses that it's only useful for short occasions when she might need to step out of the room briefly without alarming the toddler. In reality, she doesn't want to miss spending time with their son.
