While there is no dumb reason to seek help, some marriage counselors have shared the silliest reasons couples came in for an appointment, the straw that broke the camel's back, if you will.
This Guy Needs A Reality Check
OK, maybe some couples have an assigned list of jobs that each person in the relationship looks after, but there is nothing wrong with helping from time to time. If this is more a matter of him thinking he's above it, then it's time for a reality check.
Anyone With Eyes Would Agree With Him
Where do people get the money to call up a therapist and waste their time with what color to paint the house? Obviously, this woman has some control issues. The husband is just trying to save her from making a decorating disaster of their home.

If something has a place where it goes and you don't put it back in that place, do you not think I have the right to be mad? Is it really that hard to put things where they belong?

This seems like the kind of thing that this couple should have established before they got married, because it's a pretty important thing to know about a person. It's really all about taste.

If I were this therapist, I would make sure I always had jelly beans in the office when they came to visit just to see how he ate them. How can you eat them wrong?!

Maybe instead of being sneaky about it, she should ask why there was such a problem with her husband being around her mom? Seems like a more reasonable approach to the situation.
